Can someone help me set up my personal web page?
Yes. It is very important to your fundraising that you set up your personal web page. If you have tried on the site, and still need help, we are here to help you set up your personal web page.  Call us anytime: 512-371-RIDE (7433).

I’m not a cyclist, I don’t think I can ride this far.
Most of our riders are not serious cyclists. Most have never done anything like this before. The Texas Mamma Jamma Ride is a RIDE, not a race. It is an honor to come in toward the end, there are that many more people there to cheer you in!

Our free training program can lead all levels from the first time riding to being able to ride this far, and have a lot of fun in the process.

I’ve never raised this much money. I’m not sure I can do it.
No one likes to ask for money, but when people learn you are riding miles and miles for this cause, they will WANT to support you. A majority of people start out thinking they can’t raise this much and then raise over their goal. It’s easier than you think, and we have special fundraising volunteers who will help you raise your money. Your Mamma Jamma Coaches are also good resources for fundraising ideas and help.

Where can I buy a bike?/What kind of bike should I ride?
We recommend our great sponsor, Mellow Johnny's. Talk to a friend who is a rider, and ask them to suggest a good bike shop in your area. You can also send a message out to the Texas Mamma Jamma Ride YahooGroup and ask if anyone is selling a bike, or knows of a bike you could ride.

Some people ride road bikes (thinner frame, skinny tires), and some ride mountain bikes. We recommend you ride the type of bike you like best, are used to riding, and the type most comfortable for you. Hybrid bikes, a cross between road and mountain bikes, may also be a good option for some riders.

Can I train with other people who are not serious cyclists?
Yes you can.  Most of our riders are not serious cyclists.  We have leaders for different levels on our training rides. On Texas Mamma Jamma Ride Training rides, you will never be left behind. Clink the link to go to more information about and a schedule of our Training Rides.

What kind of support will I have leading up to the Ride?
As soon as you register, you will have access to a Texas Mamma Jamma Coach. You can contact our Mamma Jamma Coaches Liz Arreaga (liz@mercurymambo.com) and Liz Stewart (lizstewart@austin.rr.com) who are here for you if you have questions about fundraising, training, and other Ride related issues and questions. You can also always call the office at 512-371-RIDE, or email at info@mammajammaride.org.
